Accessibility statement

Last updated: 13 October 2026

We want Booktation to be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, the keyboard only or a larger text size. This page says where we stand and how to tell us about a problem.

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. In practice:

  • every control can be reached and used with the keyboard, with a visible focus;
  • buttons, fields and images have a label that screen readers can read;
  • touch targets are, as a rule, at least 44 pixels, and the text keeps a sufficient contrast in the light and in the dark theme;
  • animations are reduced when your device asks for it; the moving examples of the home page have a Pause button, start still if your device asks for less motion, and wait while you use the keyboard inside them;
  • the cookie banner does not block the page, works with the keyboard and has “Reject” and “Accept” side by side and alike;
  • the app works in Italian and English and can be enlarged with the browser zoom.

We check the main screens with automated accessibility tools and fix what they find.

Booktation is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Some parts may not be fully accessible yet:

  • the Map of themes, which draws the themes of your notes as a picture: the same themes are also available as a list;
  • book covers, which come from outside sources and do not always have a description: the title and author are always written next to them;
  • taking notes from a photo, which needs the camera: you can always type the note instead.

Adastra S.r.l.s. is a microenterprise (fewer than 10 people and a turnover or balance sheet total of no more than 2 million euros). Microenterprises that provide services are exempt from the obligations of Legislative Decree 82/2022, which transposes the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882). We publish this statement anyway, of our own free will, because accessibility matters to us.

If you find something you cannot read or use, write to us at info@booktation.com: tell us the page and what happened. We answer within 30 days and, if we cannot fix it quickly, we tell you another way to get what you need.
